The transition to electrification demands not just innovation but collaboration—a theme echoed by all our partners. 

Qiyuan Green Power shared their battery-swapping technology for heavy-duty trucks, construction machinery, and ships. Stan4SWAP initiated by Prof. Dr. Peter Van den Bossche showcased Europe’s ambitious roadmap for standardized swappable batteries, a critical step for L-category vehicles to achieve scale. Meanwhile, Circular Energy Storage Research and Consulting revealed a stark reality: global recycling capacity already outpaces available feedstock, yet second-life applications (like energy storage and EV conversions) struggle with mismatched supply chains. 

On the recycling front, EFT-Systems, Eurecat France and IFP Energies nouvelles highlighted regional solutions: EFT’s upcoming LFP-dedicated plant in Spain (recycling 6K tons/year by 2027) promises a 40% lower carbon footprint than mining, while Eurecat’s CathanLoop project adapts hydrometallurgy to Europe’s black mass challenges. Across the Atlantic, Argonne National Laboratory National Lab’s ReCell proved direct recycling isn’t just viable—it’s 50% cheaper than virgin NMC622 production, with pilot plants now scaling to 2 kg/hr throughput.
